Plans lodged for the redevelopment of former Hendersons factory
The former Henderson’s Relish factory in Sheffield could be converted into a café, restaurant or social space under newly submitted plans.The University of Sheffield, supported by DLP Planning and Rance Booth Smith Architects, has submitted a full planning application to Sheffield City Council for the property on Leavygreave Road.Henderson’s Relish relocated to a site off Sheffield Parkway in 2013.Planning permission is sought for the redevelopment of the building for use as a café, restaurant, or social/leisure space, to be operated by the university.Three of the original facades will be retained, which will act as Phase 1 of redevelopment.Future development would include expansion to the rear of the building on land presently being cleared of a workshop. This would form Phase 2 of the redevelopment and be subject to a future planning application and designs.
